Frequently asked questions

My mask is too big, how can I adjust it?

Elastic for masks is measured based on an average for that size - size fits most. To make the mask smaller, add a slip knot on the end that sits behind your ears or you can twist the elastic before putting it around your ear as well. Also, due to the nature of elastic, the more you stretch it the less recovery it has, so as you wear your mask long term, the elastic may stretch a bit more. If it becomes too big, you can adjust by knotting or twisting.

Why made to order?

Making your items to order allows me to give you exactly what you want! Some fabrics will sell faster than others, and I'd like to make the fabric choice you have to the size selection you have. Qualities can be limited based on fabric availability as well. Making them to order ensures you can get the fabric choice you want in the size you want.

Why does the elastic differ?

Elastic is a hot commodity right now. Most of the time I'm able to get both 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch elast but sometimes I'm limited to the availability of either one. If you have any questions about elastic please contact me!

Are you open to custom requests?

Yes! Please contact me to discuss your custom request. I'm happy to work with you on a larger scale project, offer a bulk discount or hunt down a particular fabric pattern (if available). Please contact me to discuss.

How do I pick up my order?

When your order is completed, you'll receive an email from BB Lines noting that your order is ready for pick up. Please respond to that email is you have any questions. Your item will be in a basket on the front porch on the bench.

What kind of fabric to do you use?

Fabric types differ by project. Masks and Scrub Caps are made with a cotton or cotton blend fabric. Solid fabrics are dyed while prints are typically printed. All fabrics are pre-washed before sewing to avoid shrinking later on.

How should my mask fit?

Your mask should fit snug but not constriting to breathing. Your elastic should have a comfortable but firm grib around your ears. The fabric should cover a large portion of the lower part of your face and always be worn over your nose and under your chin. In the image below, you'll see the elastic was twisted to get a better fit.

Why no wire?

At this time, wire is not available to add to your mask. Once more has arrived, it will be an add-on option for an additional fee.

Are these medical grade masks?

Masks are intended for general public use only. They are non-sterile and are not intended for use in any clinical or surgical setting or where exposure to bodily or hazardous fluids may be expected, where the risk of exposure through inhalation is high, or near intense heat or flammable gas.

Do you accept returns?

At this time, returns are not accepted. Many of my products listed are used for individuals as a face covering or scrub cap. As such, these items cannot be returned.
